That Hidden Noodle Shop

The brightest gems will always be hidden in the ugliest places, no?

Being suffocated by daily duties, K and I arrived at my favourite hangout spot (Sham Shui Po!) for some retail therapy. Yet, my stomach mind was actually set on trying that hidden noodle shop which had pique my curiosity ever since I've noticed its presence more than a year ago.
Kakurega Ramen Factory, the small noodle shop housed on the 8th floor of the Dragon Centre shopping mall. With bamboo curtains as walls and soft drink crates as stools, it certainly has enough character to stand out amongst the maze of small shops.
The menu is simple; just 3 options with full Japanese description. Since K and I have 0 clue in Japanese language, we kind of guessed that option 1 = original dip; option 2 = black onion oil dip; option 3 = spicy dip.

It turned out that option 1 = tonkotsu pork bone; option 2 = black garlic; option 3 = tomato...

We took more time than expected trying to figure out the options on the order chit. Eg. What is a "fireball"?? It turns out to be a ball of chili paste... Thanks Google! (◎_◎;)
In the end we ticked whatever sounded safe and the above arrived! Meet my Kakurega White!
The 17-seater shop is actually quite cramp but it has character.
I was surprised that the shop name is printed onto the seaweed! Anyways, do take the effort to try adding the condiments into the noodles. After eating the noodles, you can also ask the waiter/ waitress to add broth into the dip and drink everything up. Too bad K and I were too full to finish drinking the whole thing.

It was indeed an interesting experience, although not comparable to the Ichiran experience. Yet I think this stall is worth the recommendation given that there is no queue (but there are so much more cheaper food options in SSP!)
