It's exactly 7 days before flying home, so I'm trying to clear things off my HK to-do list, because if not I'll only get to do them after a few months.
The weather for this week is gloomy, which means no adventures for me. Seriously, it's difficult to enjoy the beauty of newly found places when there's wind and rain whipping at your face constantly. I'm going for 21st century modern adventure, not some I-want-to-survive-in-the-wilderness adventure, thank you very much!
Anyways, being bored to tears with absolutely nothing to do apart from packing and studying, I decided to jio CH out for tea. We found ourselves at Oppa Chicken, the Korean food stall near school, which was opened around a year ago. There is forever a queue outside so we have yet to tried it out until now.
We were surprised to find no queue today! With just less than 20 seats, it is no wonder that the queue never moves during the lunch peak hours! Seated under the blasting screen of k-pop songs, we ordered the famous egg roll and a basket of chicken wings.
First dish: Egg roll - HKD$58

没有酱简单lor! As seen in the first picture, the surprise came when I kiap the first piece. There's cheese inside! I'll confess that I'm not a cheese person, but this cheese is not those which grease your whole digestive system. Overall, the egg roll is cooked till it's firm on the outside, but still softly molten with ample amounts of cheese and minced onions on the inside. Topped with ketchup, honey mustard, mayo, and some fresh herb, this dish is seriously a must try!
Second dish: Honey sweet soy fried chicken wing/ drumlet (5 pieces) - HKD$42

There are 4 things in this dish: Chicken, fries, pickled radish, ketchup
1) Being fresh off the deep fryer, the chicken is juicy and crunchy, with a hint of sweetness to it.
2) The fries are thick, but with a firm and crunchy outside and minimal starch on the inside. I think I've found my favourite fries! Because I'm never one for starchy foods and this won me over!
3) Pickled radish: like norm pickled radish lor. I still have a lot in the fridge from my previous harvests.
4) Ketchup: like norm ketchup lor. I don't think it's even Heinz ketchup?
Overall, I think the egg roll is worth the trip! There's still a long list of dishes and drinks which we didn't try this time. Still, the price is too pricey for me at the moment :(
