One of our last founding fathers passed away earlier this week.
Personally, as a young citizen, I did not know much about the late Mr Lee. Whatever I knew about him were secondhand; from textbooks and commentaries. While I am not as devastated as those who knew him personally, I still felt somber for the loss of our founding father; the one who took leaps of faith throughout the years to shape Singapore into the country she is now.
Being away from Home, many of us could only read about live updates on the Channel News Asia's website and watch a live telecast on YouTube. People around us would ask us questions about late Mr Lee's governance style and what's happening back Home now. For those of us who could make time, we went down to the consulate-general at HK's Admiralty to sign the condolence book. Nevertheless, our hearts are with Home, even though we are physically overseas.
