HK Chalet Day

Back home, chalets are usually houses which caters mainly to people for holding parties and barbecues. While these houses make decent accommodations, they usually only offer a free swimming pool for residents, and nothing much else. As such, the hosts have to plan the entertainment out, if not, the guests are going to be just sitting around and twiddling their thumbs or something. ( ´¬`)

But... the HK chalets are different! While I'm not sure is this the case for other countries, most of the chalets in HK offers activities for campers to be engaged in. So just pay, and enjoy!

Anyways, I was tasked to be one of the leaders for campers in my placement agency, so I got to visit the Lei Yue Mun Holiday Camp for a day camp.
The campground was built by refurbishing colonial buildings on top of a hill in northeastern Hong Kong Island. There were many groups of campers around, so we had to queue to use the facilities.
Meal plan. Simple home style food.
For this chalet, almost all the activities are concentrated within one building.
My group tried a round of archery after we had spent some time in the outdoor rope course.

Since the chalets are operated by the HK government, the camp charges are relatively low. (It was only HKD$26 per pax for Saturday, even cheaper for weekdays). It would be easier for locals to sign up as a camper, but foreigners are welcome to apply for the "last-minute" vacancies. How I wish to visit again!
