AAAA - Attempt At Art Appreciation

Art was never my strongest subject in school. On one hand, I totally suck at art work; on the other, art is too abstract for me to grasp and comprehend. Thus, I tend to shy away from art - no matter performing arts or expressive arts.

Anyways, SL had invited me along for the Art Basel in Hong Kong, which is one of the most reputable art fairs involving artists and galleries from all over the world. I have to apologise in advance for being clueless and uncultured in this aspect. Thankfully, SL is such a great friend and totally accepted my ignorance.

Interesting art pieces which I guess will be easily overlooked.
My personal favourite

The whole art fair was spread across two levels within the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre. Since both if us ended school late, we only managed to do a quick round at the upper level. We were actually visiting a day prior to it being opened to the public and found that most art pieces were already sold!

Over all, do I feel more cultured? No. But I have to say that art is abstract and subjective, and I will still stick to pieces which I can understand and interpret. Nevertheless, it was a great eye-opener for both of us to attend such a fringe activity, which is so far from our subjects of training.
