Good Catch (Up)

Over the week when I was packing/ unpacking for school, people started telling me that they/ their friend/ their friend's friend will be visiting Hong Kong this semester. Which I assume kinda means: "Please help me look out for this person or at least say hi so that I can prove that I have a friend studying in HK."

Joking! But still... Replying "Ok wow that's great!" already sounds too standoffish. So usually I'll give face to my friend to get to know this new person, because who knows, we may end up as fast friends!

Anyways there was an event organised by the Hong Kong Singaporean Association for SG university students to meet up in HK, and I would be meeting 2 friend's-friend at the luncheon. It feels like a blind date of sorts cos I have no idea how they look like; I only chatted to them over whatsapp several times. So while we were listening to the opening speech, I was also asking my clique to guess who's the "blind date".
I thought I look presentable even though I'm stoning. No wonder my lecturers always call me to answer questions in class! (Maybe sitting at the first row has something to do with that too...)

The point that got us piqued was because my friend promoted his friend as "a good catch". Lol! This is what I call a good guarantor! Well my girl friends were quite impressed and excited with this "blind date candidate", while since I am already spoken for, I was more amused than anything (^_^;)

If you think I came to this luncheon to meet a good catch then you're wrong!ಠ╭╮ಠ
Heh ok la half right because I was actually lured here by the good catch - free lunch!!
I'm been hearing almost 100% positive reviews of Jen Hotel's Cafe Malacca's MY/SG food. I've tried it myself and IT'S REAL GOOD!!! Can I say the food here is even better tasting than back Home?! Well with this price tag, I guess it's a given that the taste is so flavourfully tasty and cooked with higher end ingredients. It's like comparing Mandarin Orchard's chicken rice to hawker centre chicken rice.
I had the beef rendang, which is cooked with golden coin muscle instead of tree bark meat random beef cuts. Not the best beef cuts but it's tender and delicious cooked here! But in the end 还是妈妈煮的金钱展最好吃!

Anyways I'm glad my friends actually tell me beforehand, got my agreement, before passing my info out to their HK-bound friends. Which reminds me, I got an email out of the blue last year from a guy who's from SG and in HK for exchange, and wanted to connect and stuff.

The main point is:
- I do not know where you popped up from?? (I found out later, after chatting with him.)
- I didn't meet him throughout the whole semester in the end, because transportation sucks then (No direct train at both our schools and roads were blocked due to Occupy Central)
- I didn't want to sit through another awkward date/ appointment (Quota maxed out for this lifetime). *There's nothing wrong with him... but I may meet him if he has a "guarantor" to vouch for him heh.

So throughout the whole semester I did the "Sure! Let's meet up some time." whereby the "some time" never occur muahahahaha. Ok end of story.
