Night Drop

This was the best I could capture using my phone camera, and it does the actual scene no justice. The bay area of Home is one of the more scenic places on this tiny island, but then there are many more scenic places which I have yet to explore.

For those who were wondering where I capture this photo, this was taken in front of the ArtScience Museum. The actual scene is:
This is the last saturday before D-day, or commonly known as the SG50 jubilee national day. See the panel of redness at the background? Those are the lucky audience who could watch the parade preview at the floating platform (actually the most lucky ones should be those watching the live performance at Padang). For the rest of us, we would have to catch the actual parade on the television next week, or stand around the vicinity to soak in the atmosphere. The boyfriend and I (plus the crowds) were standing here awaiting the fireworks after our tour inside the ArtScience Museum.

Talking about the museum, I don't remember going to a museum where I couldn't finish seeing the exhibits. It may have to do with the crowds, or the lack of time, or the arrangement of the exhibits. I'll vote for the poor arrangement of the exhibits. I'll looking at you, The Deep!

"The Deep" is an exhibition on deep ocean creatures that are much more mysterious and fascinating than the usual giant squid that we are familiar with. But... (A big BUT here) Please don't go to this exhibition on weekends or the free open-house days! Unless you want to check people's butts out, or want to have your butt being checked out =.='''

You know how some lecturers will squeeze 100+ slides within a 2 hour lecture? That's exactly how I felt after seeing the exhibition. Oh I forgot... Try imagining that PLUS having this tall guy sitting in front of you in class, blocking half your view of the screen, who keeps fidgeting in his seat. YES THAT SUMS UP MY EXPERIENCE.

Anyways, I'm glad the other exhibitions were way better in space management so we got to at least look at the exhibits instead of looking out for on-coming people.

Back to the main point -> After the museum visit, we found ourselves standing at the platform outside the museum waiting for the fireworks, while listening to the patriotic national day songs sung from afar. The fireworks were not the usual circular ones but with some special pops inserted amongst the typical pops. I'll probably won't be getting out of the house next weekend due to my fear of the massive crowds, so I'm glad to be able to soak up some of the festive feel before my exile from civilization. :)
