Hot Date

Being just slightly above the equator, home is well known for her warm/ hot temperatures. Yes, that's all to explain the blog title. What were you expecting hahaha? ( ^皿^)

---

Since I am only back home for slightly more than a month, I did not really have enough time to meet all my friends whom I missed. I know meeting up is no challenge, but then I would rather meet up to shoot the breeze and catch up with no worry about time limit. What's the point of meeting up if we are bounded by time constrains? It just felt too clinical to book appointment sessions to meet up, in my humble opinion.

So my first outing back home was confirmed way before I flew back. That's the way to do it! ^.^ But then, once again I am met with the most common problem ever: "Where should we go?" Believe me, I do have a list of places I want to visit. Yet, not everyone would want to hang out at my preferred location. Maybe that's why I am usually sitting at home rather than going out heh.

---

Back to topic, today's outing was separated into two major sections: His choice and My choice.

At 10.30am, we were found sitting at Seah Im Food Centre for breakfast. Which I gave face by only drinking ice cold soya bean, since I didn't know our outing started with breakfast. Oops I hope he's not starving too bad (>_<;)

First stop: Sentosa!
Specifically, we were headed towards the trick eye museum! We were shocked by how small the museum was until we found the link way to the inner parts of the museum. Heh silly us! Although it was crowded and we didn't manage to take a photo for every single photo spot, we still took a lot of photos!
I'm amazing at balancing I know.
(Optical illusion: I appear so slim here or what?)
I have no idea why people would want to take a photo with the little match girl??? Anyways the donation box is not an optical illusion lol.
(Yes, I did try to see if the box could be moved. Nope, it's glued to the ground.)

Then, since I had been craving kway chap for a long time, we headed towards Tong Lok Kway Chap at Pasir Panjang. The kway tasted different from the normal kway chap elsewhere (in a good way) so I guess it is was worth the trip! (because I might have just suppress my craving until I chance upon a kway chap store randomly, but I would hardly go out of the way to curb my craving)

Second stop: Sembawang Hot Spring
Exactly why this is a hot date - because the spring water is scalding hot! We brought a carton of eggs to make 温泉蛋 (hot spring eggs). Weirdly enough, the eggs became soft boiled no matter how long we soaked the eggs under the running hot spring.
Brown sign means tourist spot.
Tourist spot? Puh-lease, it's just a blank space surrounding the main pipes.
(Pails and chairs can be borrowed from whoever looks like the "in-charge")
The overbearing auntie who "taught us the right way to soak our legs".
I personally like how she tried to scald us by adding spring water into our pails. (# ಠ.ಠ )
The never-going-to-be-hardboiled egg.

We left before the SAF (Singapore Armed Force) personnel came to close the gates and headed towards Chong Pang Food Centre for dinner. (The hot spring is located on SAF grounds so they will clear the area after opening hours) Being super dehydrated, I only managed to munch down a small plate of chwee kueh while the man downed a whole plate of rice (again).

& then we were supposed to make the most out of Starbucks by getting the buy one free one drink, which doesn't make sense because:
1) It's night time, drinking coffee = saying good bye to sleep
2) Didn't we just eat dinner??? One cuppa is quite filling one wor!

In the end we were deterred by the long queue at Northpoint's Starbucks, and we didn't know where the next nearest Starbucks would be, so we decided to end the night here. Heh, why drink coffee so late at night leh?
Enough for me to remember till the next time we meet again ♥
