My primary agenda for this summer break is:
1) Overseas community service trip
2) Find an internship
3) Visit friends
4) Spend time with my family
*not in any particular order
To be honest, I felt very unprepared for the summer break, because I didn't get to attend any meetings for the overseas trip, nor did I start to look for agencies who could accommodate an inexperienced intern like myself. All I did was book my plane tickets for the overseas trip and hope for the best.
Since the plane tickets for that period seem to be fully booked or unreasonably expensive, the 5 day trip turned to a 10 day trip. The first 3 days were spent sight seeing and the rest of the days were spent on the camp and on transportation.
Unprepared: The team was informed that the local temperature was reaching 37 degrees, and so we packed light weight and cotton/ dri-fit tops for the trip. Imagine our surprise when the air stewardess informed us that the temperature was 18 degrees! T_T

The noodle price is based on weight.
I ordered the 2 ounces portion which cost me ¥8 = SGD$1.65.
Some of the random attractions which we visited.
Visiting the Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding!
(I'm proud to be standing here with t-shirt, cardigan and shorts in the powder-like rain.
Yes, it was around 18 degrees still.)
Can you spot ABC (American Born Chinese) Panda - Mei Lan?
In case you didn't.
Panda cub "day-care"
I personally found Red Pandas cuter!
Another tourist attraction similar to the other shopping street.
Du Fu Thatched Cottage.
It was a traditional Chinese Garden and the weather gave the whole place a very fitting atmosphere. Too bad I was bored out of my mind by all the trees and grass and plants. I thought it was a tourist trap because the entrance ticket cost more than the Panda base and there is nothing much to see around here.
The most annoying thing is that the statues of Du Fu do not match up. So did Poet Du Fu resemble Slenderman or did he look like the generic plump Chinese Official in the ancient times???

I think I'll only travel here again for the affordable Peking Ducks =P
