Cravings

As much as I could get most of my material needs satisfied in HK, I am on a constant craving of food back home. ALL FOREIGNERS GO THROUGH THIS PHASE, TRUST ME!

The great thing about being home is that almost all the local dishes can be found anywhere on the island, so all cravings can be satisfied in 9.99 seconds.

Since I only eat to live, thus I have really low expectations on food. However, chicken rice will be the exception because I prefer my chicken to be juicy and the rice to be warm and oily. When the chicken rice food stall in my neighbourhood closed down, I had to travel all the way to mid-town (10 train stations away) for my fix. In justification, that stall offers other side dishes along to the chicken rice, which I thought was the most affordable and delicious stall ever!

Knowing my craving, YW brought me all the way to River Valley for Boon Tong Kee chicken rice. I don't really remember eating this "branded" chicken rice in my whole life?
Sorry the photo didn't do justice to the dish (;-_-)

I was thoroughly fascinated by the placemat and the cutlery set. The placemat is actually a vanguard sheet and the cutlery is wrapped in a origami casing. Yes, I make sure to observe where they store the unwrapped casings. (They disposed them after the cutlery is unwrapped, so it should be quite clean? A waste of paper though...)

Anyways we ordered half of a white chicken, which is more fatty, but taste much more delectable due to the texture and the juicy goodness! Oh and the collagen "jelly" between the skin and the meat!!! I'm drooling once again while I type this post!

There was this saying that one would need to run 20 rounds around the track to burn all the calories from a meal of chicken rice. While there were no tracks for us to run, we ended up walking a couple kilometres while shooting the breeze.

p.s. My favourite local dish is not chicken rice though (っ˘ڡ˘ς)
