We're celebrating way too early (officially on 1 Aug in Singapore) but it's really important to honour those who are serving on the ground.
There's a range of events happening from morning till night:
games > ice cream waffles > lunch > performance > dinner
Since I'm not a direct care staff, I'm involved in serving ice cream waffles! =)

Flavours!

The "signboard" before the collection station

Yummy!!

Salty Malty (Horlicks)
Rewarded for our service after the whole event!

Oh oh this is my favourite soup at the workplace!!!!
Lotus root and pork ribs soup.
I can just be on liquid diet for that meal =)
After lunch, I'm involved in the performance, the march in to be exact.

Entrance to the church santuary

Salvation Army Flag which we waved while marching in
I haven't been to the second level so I sneaked up for the rest of the performance. The residents usually attend services at this level since it is directly connected to their residential block.

Boss talking

Nurses from various institutions involved in the ceremony.
A sumptuous dinner and a long walk home to digest the entertainment and the food =)
