Bright and early (and running late) at Aberdeen
Bye, Hong Kong Island!
Hello, Ocean Park! (But then we're just passing by!)
Yay! Hello, Po Toi Island!
Po Toi Island is one of the last accessible points Southern of the whole Hong Kong Territory. Any further and it's going to be the international sea.
The pier. Concern groups has been trying to seek for infrastructural improvements to be built on the Island (eg. electricity grid and water supply) but then other groups want the Island to remain as natural as it is. Oh yes, this Island is inhabited by handfuls of people.
Stone carving from ancient times.
Beautiful cove with crystal clear waters.
Palm Cliff
View from the Southern tip of the Island.
Climbing down to the wave cut platform to look for small ocean creatures. We saw sea urchins and crabs mostly! But the waves crashing towards us could be quite massive and scary at times!
Salt deposits on the rocks.
Waiting for the long queue of people to disperse before we hike up to the lighthouse. Yes, those colourful specks on the trail are fellow visitors! Po Toi Island trails are relatively family-friendly, as they are all concrete paths and staircases.
Reached!
There's only one ferry in, and one ferry out on Tuesdays and Thursdays; more ferry timings on the weekends. Do remember to get on the returning ferry as there is no official accommodations on the Island. Additionally, there is no electricity and water supply on the Island so it'll be man vs. wild!
p.s. Begging the Island residents for help should be plausible though. (^~^;)ゞ
