Happy Hours

November is also known as death month in HKU, since it is when most of our assignments are due, which is a huge threat to our lazy, procrastinating beings. But then as the saying goes: Work hard, Play hard; K and I actually went out to play in this critical period. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Right after church, we found ourselves at the makeup studio in Causeway Bay. We've bought a Groupon deal previously which includes 1 makeup class, 1 makeup session, and a free gift. I actually found the makeup too much for me, but it look better after it melted off my face. (*•̀ᴗ•́*)و ̑̑

Anyways, the food in CWB is usually pricier than our usual hangouts so we're planning to just go to a food court nearby (which is also pricier than elsewhere), but then got attracted to a Japanese BBQ restaurant.
We chose the meal with the biggest picture because it seemed to be the more worth the price.
The meal includes a few slices of sashimi, the above meal set, then pudding as dessert. Quite affordable for CWB, but I'll be relying on bread for the subsequent weekdays... I think we spent most of the meal being amused by how we need to rescue the burning meat from the real charcoal grill, instead of enjoying the meal at a leisurely pace. Seriously don't underestimate any charcoal grill for cooking meat; every morsel we put in seemed to be a sacrifice to the volcano gods or something. (๑°o°๑)

We then headed to the British Festival at Chater Garden. It was quite a small festival with 75% booths selling alcohol. We were curious so we shared a bottle of apple cider to soak in the atmosphere.
Of course a photo with the iconic Bank of China building as the backdrop!

It was surprisingly hot this "autumn/winter" day so we left after finishing our drink, and saw a collection of classic British cars on our way to the train station.
Not sure why there's two separate events related to UK in the same area, but it would be cooler if they joined forces.

With that, we ended our "happy hour" and headed back to our respective residences to continue working hard on our assignments.
