Everyone's Birthday

It's the seventh day of the Lunar New Year, also known as the "Human Day" in literal translation. According to Chinese mythology, the goddess Nv Wa created the universe in eight days; humans were created on the seventh day so it is everyone's birthday on this day every year onwards.

Anyways, this is also the last day of my school break so I decided to make it super fruitful and memorable. Instead of staying in my room to catch up on my readings (it's week 6 now and I've only read up to week 1), I then headed down to the eastern side of the Island for some sightseeing.
The Fireboat Alexander Grantham Exhibition Gallery has been on my to visit list for a long time, and since I really didn't want to rot in my room anymore, I headed down to visit even in such low visibility.
That's the Hong Kong Museum of Coastal Defense at the other end of the typhoon shelter (middle of this photo), which I visited last LNY. Read more here.
If the trip to the Fireboat is too short, I would recommend adding the Hong Kong film archive into the day's itinerary as well. I was in time to view the exhibition on "The Foundation of Run Run Shaw's Cinema Empire", but exhibitions do change from time to time. Movie showings are only available on weekends though.

& that marks the end of my LNY break! I don't think I have ever been so excited to be back to school, where I could finally interact with humans. (>_<)
